We recently had a chance to produce a custom order for Nomadés. Nomadés was looking for something different than anything we’ve ever done: an all-white American flag to use as a photo background for their product catalog. Hearing about this order sparked our intrigue in Nomadés’ business. We knew some of their story, but we wanted to know more—and we wanted to share it with you. We reached out to their marketing director, Heather Osborne, to learn more.

Tell us a little about Nomadés.
Nomadés is a direct sales company that creates military charms and other products. We are dedicated to creating products that afford individuals the opportunity to share their military journey and show support for our United States military services. We are committed to help others “share their story” through our high-quality sterling silver jewelry and products.
Additionally, we are proud to share that our party plan style of sharing allows individuals to own their own business that moves with them. Our Nomadés charming family of consultants are an amazing group of women! Our group of consultants is ever growing and we are always looking for more to join us.
Is there any special meaning behind the name “Nomadés?”
Nomadés is derived from the Greek nomade, and Latin nomas meaning “wandering” or “a person with no fixed residence who roams about”. The original founders concluded “Nomadés” was a perfect name.
Where did the idea for Nomadés come from?
Our story began with four women. Four Marine wives, whose journeys were similar, though the landmarks along the way were different. After years of swapping tales of deployments, moves, jobs, kids, marriages, and more, these friends wanted something to commemorate and celebrate all those memories.
The Nomadés Collection was born. Our bracelets and the collection of charms connect those stories we told and the ones our sisterhood around the world tells.
Have you had to overcome any unexpected challenges?
Like any company we have had challenges. Our biggest challenge is finding ways to share our products with others. So we’d appreciate it if you could take the time to share our website, NomadesCollection.com, with your friends and neighbors.
What are your most popular products?
Our most popular products are our duty station charms. These charms represent the places, experiences, and stories of the wearer.
Who is a typical Nomadés customer?
Anyone can be a Nomadés customer, however, the majority of our customers have a military affiliation.
What does 2015 have in store for Nomadés?
For 2015, Nomadés is looking forward to growing by adding more consultants to our charming family. Nomadés is a direct sales company. We have consultants all over the continental United States and countries overseas that have US military bases. The Nomadés Charming Family offers women an opportunity to own their own business, make money, set their own hours, own a business that moves with them, and a camaraderie of peers that share a sisterhood of experiences that are amazing and outstanding!
What’s the story behind your custom Patriot Wood order?
The story behind our custom Patriot Wood order is simple, Nomadés wanted a wooden American flag to accent the charms, spacers, bracelets, and rings we sell for style shots in our upcoming catalog.
Believing in the American dream, we chose another company that makes their products here in America! The workmanship and quality of the products on the website of Patriot Wood was amazing!
